The finals of the Clooney Quin U12 Camogie Tournament took place at the field on Sunday morning last.  The first game of the day saw Eire Og defeat Newmarket-on-Fergus by just a single point in the Shield final.  This was an exciting game and well refereed by upcoming ref Nicola McNamara.  It was a great warm up for the Cup final which followed.
This was another close game as the hosts played St. Josephs.  The difference was again just the minimum but unfortunately it was the neighbouring parish who won out on a final score line of 1-01 to 1-00.  The Clooney-Quin girls were very unlucky though as the goalie and full back for St. Josephs were outstanding and kept the many scoring chances at bay. Captain Sinead Considine accepted the runners up medals from Club Chairperson Breda Daffy after the game.

Jessica Leamy was the referee for the U12 Cup final.  Nicola Mc Namara and Jessica refereed the group stages and then the finals and did a brilliant job and helped make the tournament run so smoothly.

Clooney paid host to St. Joseph's, Eire Og and Newmarket-on-Fergus on Sunday evening last.  There was great excitement in Croke Park on Sunday with the Camogie All-Irelands but Clooney had its own excitement. The young girls of the club gave a great display of camoige as did the visitors.
Clooney were undefeated on the evening with a wins over St. Joseph's and Eire Og and a draw with Newmarket-on-Fergus.  St. Josephs had defeated Eire Og and Newmarket and so the two who produced a great final game on Sunday evening will battle it out again on next Sunday.
CLooney will play St. Joseph's at 12 noon at the field with Eire Og and Newmarket playing in the shield final at 11am.
Come on out and support the girls.

The Clooney/Quin under 12 team have now completed the league section of their championship and have qualified for the semi final.  In their first match they came up against a very strong Kilkishen team and lost out by a narrow margin.  Next up were Feakle and here the young Clooney/Quin girls produced a very skillful performance to win comfortably.  Their last match was against a very young Sixmilebridge B team and they won by a very large score.  These young girls are improving with every outing and are now looking forward to taking part in the final stages of the competition.  Well done to them and their management of Martha Deegan, Sheelagh Daffy, Derek Ryan and Orla Considine.

This is a very busy week for the U-12 Girls, with the U-12 B Shield Camogie final on this Wednesday 2nd June in Tulla, where they will meet Kilkishen.
