On Saturday last, the U-8's girls had their second training session of the year and practiced hard in anticipation of their 1st blitz on Sunday 25th April in Newmarket. Joining Fiona Seaward this week in the training and mentoring of the U-8 group were Orla Considine, Joanne Perill, Maurice Slattery and Peter Cantwell.

The numbers were high again with a turnout of 20 girls. This week Orla Considine lead the session with the help of Joanne, Fiona, Maurice & Peter. Training will continue each week at 11.30am  - unless weather is bad and in that case all parents will receive a text from Fiona Seaward.

"I would like to thank all the people who give their time voluntarily to train and mentor these groups of girls. Without their help this would not be possible."

- Marie Kennedy,Chairperson, Clooney/Quin Camogie"

Camogie Chairperson, Marie Kennedy & Secretary, Breda Daffy were in attendance this week as they were last week. Maire welcomed all the new players and thanked all the trainers and mentors for giving their spare time in helping out. With over 65 young girls in the groups U-6's, U-8's & U-10's, the high number of mentors and coaches present were kept busy.

The U-8 Camogie blitz went ahead on Sunday afternoon 25th April in Newmarket, despite a damp night and morning, the afternoon turned out fine and suitable for the blitz. With 13 players attending, 3 games were played against Kilmaley, Corofin & Newmarket. All girls enjoyed the afternoon, some playing in their first ever match and blitz.

Well done to all.
