ClooneyQuin U16 Hurlers overwhelmed Newmarket with a great team performance last Sunday morning to qualify for the County Semi-final. Leading by 2-8 to 0-6 at half time, the home side continued to dominate in the 2nd period and finished up 4-14 to 1-10 winners. Their opponents in the semi-final will be Broadford, who were CQ's victors in the opening game of the campaign. The match is fixed for Gurteen on this Sunday morning at 11:00am. Hope to see a large band of Green and Red supporters there to cheer them on.

Our U16 hurlers were beaten by Broadford/Smith O'Briens last Sunday evening in Broadford in the opening round of this year's championship. CQ led by 2 points at half-time in this very entertaining encounter before some superb free-taking from the home side guided the East Clare amalgamation to a 2-17 to 3-8 victory. The boys have a home game with Ballyea on this Sunday in Round 2. Throw-in will be at 12:00noon.

ClooneyQuin will play Smith O'Briens in the semi-final of the U16 Shield in Bodyke this evening (Tuesday 24th) at 6:00pm.

ClooneyQuin U16 Hurlers scored a merited 4-10 to 1-10 win over Eire Og on Tuesday evening in the quarter-final of the Shield Competition. The boys built up their  3-goal lead in the opening period and held a 3-5 to 1-5 half-time advantage. Fergal Coughlan, Michael Corry, Sean Hehir and Alan Culligan were all on target during the hour, but, special mention must go to Paul Reynolds who bagged all four goals! Next up is a semi-final meeting with Smith O'Briens but a day and time has yet to be confirmed.

ClooneyQuin U13s have a championship match in Newmarket against the home side on this Friday evening at 6pm. while our U16s will take on Eire Og on Tuesday evening at the Eire Og grounds in the quarter-final of the shield competition. Throw-in for this one is  6:15pm.
