Our Minor Hurlers will take on Tulla in the 1st round of the championship on this Thursday evening at Mick Hennessy Memorial Park. The match will have a 7:30pm throw-in and Pat Leamy’s charges will be hoping to get season off to the best possible start. Then, on next Wednesday 9th July the boys will travel to Broadford for a meeting with the host club in Round 2.

ClooneyQuin U15s fell at the first hurdle of this year’s U15B championship when they were beaten by Cratloe on Friday night on a 3-11 to 0-6 scoreline. Having trailed by 1-5 to 0-3 at the break following a fairly even first half, CQ found it far more difficult than their hosts to notch the required scores in the 2nd period.
On Sunday morning in Tulla, the ClooneyQuin/Tulla amalgamation had a fine victory over Corofin/Ruan in the U15A quarter-final. An early 0-3 to 0-0 lead by the North Clare side was wiped out once the newly formed amalgamation found their rhythm and went on to hold a 0-12 to 0-5 lead at the half-time whistle. ClooneyQuin/Tulla continued to dominate the 2nd half and finished convincing 0-21 to 1-8 winners. Alan Culligan helped himself to 11 points in a match where there were other standout performances from Cathal O’Halloran,  Cathal Browne,  Sean Burke and Tulla’s Eoin Shanahan, Ferghal Kearney, Sean Cahill and Austin McInerney.
