Results

The Clooney/Quin Senior and Junior hurlers both suffered defeats in the Championship at the weekend.
On Saturday, the Juniors had a great tussle with neighbours, St. Josephs Doora/Barefield while on Sundaythe Seniors also were engaged in a match with neighbours Newmarket.
In the subsequent draw for the Senior "B" Championship, Clooney/Quin will play Scarriff in the quarter final. This game is scheduled to take place the weekend after next.
Last weekend, both of the Clooney/Quin Junior Hurling sides were in Championship action.
On Saturday, the Junior A side had a two point win over Whitegate on a 1-11 to 2-6 scoreline.
On Sunday, the Junior B side played out an entertaining draw with Wolfe Tones on a 1-10 to 2-7 scoreline.
Both Junior sides will be back in Championship action in two weeks time.
There were mixed fortunes for our adult hurlers and footballers over the weekend......
On Friday, the Seniors completed their Clare Cup campaign with an impressive home victory over Clarecastle on a 1-19 to 2-11 scoreline. Unfortunately, the team finished just outside the top placings that would have allowed them qualify for the semi-final.
On Saturday, the footballers travelled to Kilmihil and ran full square into an impressive Naomh Eoin side who accounted for the Clooney-Quin men in commanding fashion.
On Monday evening, the Intermediates travelled to Inagh to take on Inagh/Kilnamona in their final League match. This was an entertaining game with little between the sides, but in the end the home side emerged victorious on a 2-10 to 0-11 scoreline.

On Saturday evening, the Intermediates had a fine 0-18 to 0-15 win in a well-contested game, while on Tuesday evening the clubs clashed in Round 6 of the Clare Cup, with Newmarket ending the Clooney/Quin 5-match unbeaten run on a 1-14 to 0-11 scoreline.

There was a lot of activity on the hurling front over the Bank Holiday weekend with our three adult teams in League action.
On Saturday, the Intermediates scored an impressive win over Cratloe in Clooney. On Bank Holiday Monday, the Seniors were in Clare Cup action against Crusheen. There was little between the sides all day but the Clooney-Quin lads just got the better of their opponents with a late winning point from Fergal Lynch. Later on on Monday evening, the Junior "B" team were defeated by an impressive Parteen side in Clooney.
The County Senior Hurling Championship throws in this weekend. Clooney-Quin side have a Bye in Round 1, with reigning County Champions, Crusheen providing the opposition in our first game in Round 2 at the end of this month.
